Now in the wiki I'll revise the page to make sense of the earlier noto-fonts-2015-09-29-license-adobe : for those fonts which are in both hinted and unhinted, which is most of the main ones, installing by the book gives two versions, as well as ttcs for NotoSans itself - your guess is as good as mine *which* will be used by fontconfig in that case!
