Actually, the thread explaining why this sentence was added started at http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/blfs-dev/2011-November/021460.html Also what you have seen has already been reported: http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/blfs-dev/2018-February/033986.html This thread seems to imply that libvpx devs recommend yasm. So I'll change the book to recommend only yasm, and put nasm as optional, with an explanation that it could replace yasm. Will wait a little, so that people can comment more.
