Hi, I would like some advice on how to get my Canon Lide 20 USB scanner
working under LFS & BLFS. I've been trying to figure this out for months
now.

I'm using LFS 6.1 & BLFS 6.1.

The lsusb command gives the following info:

Bus 005 Device 002: ID 04a9:220d Canon, Inc. CanoScan N670U/N676U/LiDE
20

so I know the system can see the scanner. However the "scanimage -L"
command does not list the scanner.

I have usbcore compiled into the kernel. The various usb kernel drivers
have been compiled as modules. scanimage and xscanimage have both been
linked against libusb and libsane.

I do not have any scanner devices in /dev/ and there is no /dev/usb/
directory on my system. This, I think, is the core of the problem, is
this correct? If so how can I get udev to create the correct device
files and how do I set up the system properly for using the scanner?

Thanks in advance.
