im not sure what the problem is here
following the BLFS svn i installed MPlayer
for some reason i cant watch dvd's
ive installed libdvd libdvdcss libdv etc avifile all of the multimedia libs
basically
my drive seems to be detected at boot
dmesg | grep DVD:
hdc: QSI DVD+/-RW SDW-082S, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
hdc: ATAPI 24X DVD-ROM DVD-R CD-R/RW drive, 2048kB Cache, UDMA(33)
is it because its a combo drive?
i can manually mount the drive with dvd inside
mount -v /dev/hdc /media
i can then view the contents
the smaller vob files play but with this error:
Too many video packets in the buffer: (4096 in 8267837 bytes)
the terminal output from that same vob file being played:

Maybe you are playing a non-interleaved stream/file or the codec failed?
For AVI files, try to force non-interleaved mode with the -ni option.
