I understand what you mean, and I should have been more specific. On my laptop, I have a Logitech cordless mouse whose reciever is plugged on an usb port. When I power-up my machine, it is not discovered at all until I unplug the device, and plug it in back. It behaves the same for usk key, though I rarely plug it before starting the machine....
Then that is a bug either with the kernel driver or in udev. If I have my usb key plugged in at boot, it's recognized. It's a bit slow because it loads the usb modules then the scsi emulation layer, but no tools are needed in addition to udev. What version of udev are you using? What version of the lfs bootscripts are you using? What version of the lfs udev rules are you using? -- Dan -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
