hi,
What i did was that i downloaded everything and burned it on a dvd which i mounted on my blfs system and copied everything in a directory. It was to my beleif that this would be enough and that i would be able to start the blfs manual from the beginning, as i started unpacking the packages and trying installations, everything started going wrong. Im getting errors everywhere. Compiling errors mostly, which i did not get before while i was building my lfs
first thing is check the md5sums.generally i have experienced that some data get screwed when you burn to dvd.and source code wont compile with even a small inconsistency.
I have also tried going back to lfs and setting up the network interface, but this also has not worked.
hmmm....how do u connect to the net.PPPoE or DHcP or how?the answer depends on that. The simplest thing is to compile support for whichever protocol u use into the kernel itself.I use DhcP ,so i've compiled it into the kernel. My computer detects the ip info at bootup. But it is also possible to do it without building it directly into the kernel.WARNING:the kernel menuconfig pregram warns that building support for connection right ito the kernel is experimental.so you are better off following the blfs book for PPPoE or DHcP connection. I think some md5sums must be wrong.... Hope this helps. On 3/29/07, Chris Staub <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
