Can you post what cfg files you have:
$ \ls /etc/auto.*
And then can you post the un-commented lines from /etc/auto.{master,misc,mnt} :
$ grep -vE '^[[:space:]]*(#|$)' /etc/auto.m*
(( The lfs-based machines here have their autofs setup inherited/lifted from
Slackware (as well as using lilo/bsdinit/&usw): so am not using the blfs stuff
directly; but a sizeable percentage of issues are cfg-related. ))
