If anybody else suppresses static libs, and wants to build kde,
libQtUiTools.a is also used by kdepim-runtime and kdepim.

After looking at the kde apps I have installed : konsole (always
starts with a small font), juk (useless for me, but no worse than
rhythmbox), kmix (works, but is now enormous on the screen), dragon
(works fine), konqueror (works), okular (can display everything
_except_ PDFs in this build) I conclude that revisiting kde will be a
waste of my time.

Meanwhile, my dislike of cmake has slightly reduced (only libarchive
is now a dependency I would not otherwise install to get it to build
with system libs, so I might look more kindly at non-kde packages
which use cmake.
