Simply by accessing it as any other drive, copying files back and forth ETC. In other words I don't rely only on the backup software. Bring it up in windows explorer and browse the drive manually. David, I sure hope my maxster is working; it says it si but who knows? It was not correctly formatted when installed so that when my internal hard drive failed, there was nothing on the backup drive. How do you check yours to make sure it is actually working?
