Sharon,
I don't know enough about that recorder to be of much use to you.  I'm 
sorry.
I borrowed the machine from a friend, hoping to find something that would 
record music and sound without a lot of nonsense.  Unfortunately, for me at 
least, the PTR1  just didn't do it.
But I do remember that there are some menus in which you can select the type 
of recording you are going to make.
But that's all I remember Sharon.  Sorry about that.
