Kathy, The model I got has the Vista operating system on it. It took some getting used to, but once you are familiar with Vista, I think you will like it. The only thing I added to the laptop itself was the Cingular laptop connect which allows me to be online anywhere, even in the car while I travel. Other than that, the laptop is fairly standard. I am still learning Office 2007 and prefer Office 2003, but that is entirely up to you as to which you want. Office 2007 is useble with a screen reader, but it sure is a learning process.
