Another alternate is to run a System Restore. Set it to a point where you know you're computer was working correctly. Another thing, I wasn't trying to give him mis-information, I have never had that problem. I was trying to analyze it. Now I have a better idea and I can now come up with a better resolution. It is called trouble shooting.
