Generally, a CID attachment is actually meant to show up as a form of embedded image or something like that, within a rich text format/HTML mail, but not sure what's causing them to show up there in the attachments list.

If you send her a plain text email, but with a real attachment like a text file or something, can she then open that attachment?

Stay well

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Having Trouble Opening Attachments On Laptop

A friend of mine wants me to ask you guys a question for her. She is sighted and does not use a screen reader. She is no longer able to open attachments from her email while using her laptop. She says that all of her attachments are coming labeled as "CID". When she tries to click on the "CID" to open the attachment, she gets a Microsoft error message that says that Microsoft does not recognize this program. She is then prompted to click on something called "MIME" and is presented with hundreds of things to choose from. She doesn't know which one to choose and is afraid to just click on something without knowing exactly which one she needs to click on. Does this make any sense to any of you? If so, could you please let me know what I need to tell her?

Thanks,
Donnie
