Looking back at your original message and your troubleshooting steps, I 
think there is a strong possibility that one of your USB device drivers got 
corrupted.

Deleteing the USB devices or all of the USB devices, if necessary, from the 
Device Manager Control Panel might fix your problem.  Windows will quickly 
find the "new" hardware and ask to reinstall the drivers again.  If the 
keyboard is also USB, you might at least attempt to determine which device 
is handling the USB keyboard.  I am not certain, but it might be hard to 
click the "Allow" button if the keyboard is not active.
