The problem would be that to access it's data externally, via something like a network cable etc. you'd need to allow this to happen by sharing paths etc., so to be honest, simplest would be to take the hard drive out and mount it in either another machine, or an external hard drive housing etc., or you could maybe have the video card replaced with something simple/cheap, etc.

Pity, in this case that there's no built in narrator for windows 98.

My sister's windows 1998 computer has a bad video card. She would like to have the data from her hard drive. It seems to me that there should be some way to retrieve the data but I don't know how. I would appreciate any insights people may have on this subject.
