I don't think I would by it seeing as that's the only difference. I don't
have a problem manually scanning/updating.
Take care.

Hi Kimsan;

It was just an assumption of mine that the XP box would stay checked if
another operating system was being used. As far as the Pro version goes, I
like it because you can schedule your scans. To get the Pro version program

on a CD, you have to pay extra for that. The Pro version fee is a 1 time
fee, but you are limited to putting the program on 2 machines, from what
I've read on their website . Take care.
Mike

  Mike:
  I had vista and that checkbox never stayed check and I am now using
windows
  7 and the checkbox is still uncheck. See? Rumors!
  How do you like the pro version vs the free version? What is the
difference?
  I hear it does the same thing, accept that the free one you would need to
  manually update definitions and run scans. Is it a one time fee and when
you
  pay do you get a cd in the mail?

  Hi Kimsan;

  As far as that " use XP style menues " check box is concerned, if you are
  running XP, that check box will not stay checked in the Pro version
either.
  We have been running the Pro version for about 8 months now and it doesn't
  stay checked. Maybe someone running Vista or Windows7 will try checking
  that box and let us know if it stays checked. Take care.
  Mike

    Rumor has it that it stays that way because it's a free version and
with
    the paid version you have more CTRL.
    Don't shun me on this one, again, it was a rumor...

    You might be onto something there Mike at least on the startup process.
    Well now that shouldn't surprise us that something doesn't stay the way
we
    wanted it to now should it? lol.

    Thanks,

    Patricia
