Maybe, it the is system files that help to operate the drive.

Hello friends;
I need to format my 500GB Omega external drive and no matter what I do it
just won't format. I deleted all the file on the unit and it still says
total 465GB available space 437GB. What is taking up the 28GB I really
wish I knew. When I open the drive it says zero files.
I tried to format the drive by entering on format in the file menu of My
Computer but Roxio wants to reinstall itself. I tried using Partition
magic with no luck.
Could someone provide some advice on what I could do please?
