Steve,

Using Diskpart is something i learned over the winter to
solve some issues like yours and others I was having. I got
some resources from list members and did research on my
own.I'm attaching an article on an overview of Diskpart and
some discussion of how to use it. The second link is a
summary of diskpart commends once you understnd how to use
it. Hope this helps.
