Some computers will also just need you to hit something like the space bar
to prompt it to in fact boot from a CD as well.
For example, on my one acer laptop, if I turn it on with a bootable CD in
the drive, I wait until it spins up, and then just as it stops it's first
initial spin (having finished scanning it to check if indeed bootable), if I
then hit either something like space bar, or enter key it will in fact boot
from CD, or else just carry on booting into windows itsself, but, yes, this
will depend on the specific computer/BIOS etc.
