hello Jacob and Janie
thank you both for your suggestions.
I have tried both and both work perfectly
I have opted for Janie's method because it is much faster and a lot easier
but I still appreciate your instruction Jacob.
once again many thanks to the both of you
Yvonne

Operating system?

Depending on operating system versions, there are a couple of ways to
create folders on desktop, but generally would prefer to start windows
explorer, and then when in file/folder listing, hit backspace key to move up one level until am on desktop, then on file menu, find new submenu, and under there hit enter on folder, when it should let you edit folder name,
hit enter and then make use of it, but this might all be slightly
differently handled across operating system versions.

hello
I have several short cut items on the desktop.
I want to tidy these up.
one way is to remove what I really don't need but I would like to know if
it
is possible to create a folder on the desktop.
then I can place some of them in the newly created folder.
thank you
Yvonne
