Hi Trish, Go to My Computer, and locate your Seagate in the list of drives. While you have it selected, go to the properties of the drive, and move to the Auto-Play tab. You will be presented with a list of content types,and as you tab thru the dialogue you will see how to select an action for each type. You will have to repeat the steps for each type in the list. I keep it simple, and select, take no action for all, so I am not interrupted with a dialogue when working on something else. If you need more assistance, just sing out. I have this device and when I first plug it into my USB slot, a long list of stuff pops up wanting to know what I want to do. I always arrow down to the "take no action" tab to ok and it's gone.
