Hi Norman,

Thank you very much for your reply. I've tried changing settings & went as
far as going back to the IE8 default settings &, I still get the same
message.
Take care.
Mike

  Hi.
If you click okay do you get any settings?
If so set them to how you want them and that should take care of that.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Search Provider Error Message In IE8

  Hi All,

I keep getting the message below every time I open IE8.

Internet Explorer - Search Provider Default A program on your computer has
corrupted your default search provider setting for Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search provider,
  Live Search (search.live.com).
Internet Explorer will now open Search Settings, where you can change this
setting or install more search providers.
   OK

A security scan has been run, & found nothing. Also, there are no
unfamiliar programs installed on this computer. Any ideas on how to fix
this, pain in the ass, whoops, I mean but! All help will be graciously
  accepted! Thanks much, take care.
  Mike
