I set up a new fighter character in coffeemud. These are usually the simplest characters to play in these muds. A coffeemud tutorial on youtube recommends fighters for first time characters and to either get lots of help with clerics and druids or read help files often. To avoid armed citizen charges and penalties in coffeemud practice and use hand to hand combat inside cities and armed combat outside cities. use of any combat mode additional to practicing those modes every so often gets you more effective.
