Ann: You are so, so right! Another thing that these people aren’t considering it that, just maybe, we have tried searching and did not get the result we wanted. I joined a cooking list that was specifically for blind people that was to give tips to blind cooks. Stuff like, instead of saying “cook until golden brown” they would give an approximate cooking time. It go the point where people would ask for a recipe, and responders would merely copy from the web and paste. No tips at all for blind cooks. I griped when being blasted about asking for recipe modifications. I left after having been a list member for about 10 years. This tread has become pretty much the same. And it is all over a simple request that would have taken less time then sending messages telling us to Google.

Hi folks, This thread is on the verge of getting very nasty, so this will be my only message here. But, what is the point of having a mailing list only to be told 'Google, google, google, and then to be called lazy if you don't or if you disagree about being lectured on doing internet searches? I did not join mailing lists of any sort to be told constantly to do internet searches or to search before you dare take up our precious time by writing to us on the list. My personal opinion is that if someone asks, specifically, for links, and you know them, you should provide them, rather than merely suggest that the person look them up on Google. That would be far more helpful, which is the purpose of the list. After all, there are times when it is still difficult to quickly and easily find something through a Google search.
