Hi Richard,
Since there are ropes to climb to certain areas in the temples the
ladders should be another material. I am thinking wood for realism here.
As for sand my thinking is since this takes place in Mexico there isn't
much sand that would collect on the floor of a temple. Especially, if it
has been closed for many years. It might be interesting to google some
ideas of actual Aztech and Mia temple designs. My guess is stone floor,
but they may have only used a simple dirt floor.
