  Hi Matt,
  That is an interesting idea.
Lets say you have 5 models of racers that you can buy and upgrade, but you
could enter your racer in any class you wished, with higher classes bringing
higher money.
You would naturally start your career with the model 1 racer. If you
damaged your racer during a race, it would be slower than a non damaged
racer, until you saved enough money from winning to have it repaired or
replaced.
Additionally, if you were up to racing in the class 3 league, if you ran
out of money and couldn't repair, you might have to drop down a class in
order to win any races and the accompanying money.
I think this kind of system would add greatly to the replay value of the
game.
I like the loan idea. Perhaps you would have to give at least 20 percent
of any winnings to pay back your loan until it was paid off.
This would definately provide incentive to race well and get that money
paid back as soon as possible.
How does all this sound so far?
  Later,
  Che
