Hi David and others.. I have a Train furnace and air conditioner together and the filter I use is a 25 by 25 a special one that Train provided. It opens up like a book has a hook to lock it when closed it's in a metal frame and once open then it unfolds out for cleaning which they said it can be washed off with water or use a vacuumed hose and blow it out. Hope that's helpful to you I haven't had to clean it but once about every 6 months but that might be too I have a air purifier installed as well on the unit and keeps it pretty clean very little dust and debree collected on it..
