Lenny, Reading your post reminds me... I failed to mention that you're, indeed, supposed to drill a small pilot in the stripped head before using this removal tool... but, according to the instructions, this may not always be necessary. However, it doesn't say how you're supposed to know when it isn't necessary to drill the pilot. --Barry

To use the tool you must first drill a small hole into the screw or bolt. then you insert the easy out and turn it in counter clockwise. this will then grab the screw or bolt and turn it out. There is another old product that I can not locate anywhere. A friend has a set of reverse twist drill bits.To use them you drill in reverse at a point the drill will just turn out the screw or bolt. My friend purchased these about 35 years ago from a hard to find tool catalog. I would really like to get a set. You're then, somehow, supposed to be able to reverse the drill and draw the screw out. But, I can't get the procedure to work.
