I'd want a contract in duplicate before I'd let a contractor any where near my roof, and I would look for one who is insured or bonded, however the terminology applies. A lot of the contractors who bid jobs here in Topeka advertise that they are insured. I would imagine any reputable roofer would offer contracts and warranty their work.

My question is , is it standard procedure to have a roofing contractor supply a written contract ? Another thought is does that roofing contractor need to show you a liability policy or is that roofing work covered under your home owners policy. Originally I was going to get a cheaper job done as I want to sell and move up out of this valley but after rethinking this I will get the better grade 30 year shingles once suggested by Dale. Oh, toss in one more question. that roof ridge vent . do you know if those are taken off during the new job or does it need to come off and be replaced. thanks Lee -- File cabinet: A four drawer, manually activated trash compactor.
