If you reach under and behind the Trap .you will find a rod that runs through a large nut and into the trap. You in .many cases can turn the nut off with no tools. Have a bucket under it and .when it's lose reach back and you will find a metal strap coming down from .the pull rod and this strap will have several holes in it. Down by the rod .you will find a spring clip so just pinch it and you now can slide the rod .back and out , now lift out the plug and now tread the large nut back on and .your ready for your drain cleaner. I've found a product that really works .and it's called CLR Power Plumber . It's a pressurized can of stuff and yes .it truly does the job. I found this product at Ace Hardware. .Glenn .
