Ok I found your original post. Again it apears you are replacing an existing switch that controls a light from only one location. This would take a single pole switch. Pick up a switch from wherever. It will have two screws on the plastic body. There may or may not be one on the metal strap of the switch. It is simpler if you get one without the grounding terminal. If you can turn off the power to just that light do so at the panel box. then padlock, ducttape securely shut the cover or do this when the only other person home is with you. Or do whatever other method you feel safe that no one will turn the breaker back on. If you can't kill the power with one breaker then turning the main off will work. Now remove the two screws holding the cover on. Then the two mounting screws that hold the switch in place. Pull the switch assembly out of the box so you can get to the power terminal screws on the plastic part of the body. Losen these two screws. They may be bent tight around the screw and it is sometimes easier to just remove the screws entirely than trying to open the loops under the screws. Once the switch is free you may open the loops on the ends of the wire to make it easier to put under the screws of the new switch. No it does not matter whitch wire goes to which screw. If the old switch just had the wires stabbed into the back just cut them off and strip the ends back about 5/8 of a inch and bend a hook on the end to go under the screws of the new switch. Note this assumes you have boughten a new switch with screws on the terminals. I would never buy or let any of my men use the stab in function on any electrical device. Anyway once the wires are on reinstall the switch to the box. Usually the screws are on the right side for the switch to read on in the up position. Install the cover, turn the power on and see if the light works.
