I don't understand the concept of "orbital" or "random orbital" sanders.
Wouldn't they burn up on reentry into the Earth's atmosphere????

Subject: [BlindHandyMan] Random orbit sander

Hi folks,
I have a random orbit sander, wich I got because someone told me you don't
have to worry about the grain direction, so you can sand where grain meets
grain at 90 degrees -- like the rails on the desk front I'm building.
The sander makes the surface feel polish smooth to me, but my wife has this
pesky ability to see, and she says the sander leaves tiny swirls in the
wood. Is there a way to use the sander so this doesn't happen, or is this
just the way it is?
Blessings,
Tom
