Since it only leaks when you flush, that means that there's a crack in the
drain tube, which runs through the bottom of the tank. There's a rubber
washer around it, under the tank, which obviously isn't containing the leak.
So, I don't believe you only need the big rubber wash, you need a new drain
tube, too. In order to change that tube, you have to take the tank off,
which involves removing the two machine screws at the bottom of the tank and
they are usually corroded inside the tank. I've had better luck holding the
bottom of those bolts underneath the toilet and removing the nuts from the
machine screws that way, because if you try to put a large screwdriver in
the slot inside the tank, it's usually so corroded you can't do it.

Good luck!

Subject: new question on RE: [BlindHandyMan] toilett

I have a leak. When I flush, the toilet leaks straight down the bolt that
keeps the tank onto the seat back.
Am I right thinking if I can release it, I should put in new rubber
washers?
Why only when it is flushing?
Thanks
