I agree with Scott, a case like this where batteries are used a lot
is exactly what NIMH cells are best at.  Buy 4 cells in a pack with a charger
that's made to go with those cells.  That is presuming the remote uses 2 cells.
Then you can rotate cells between charging and using.  It's a small
pain, but much better than buying new cells all the time.
