Is that an older unit? Seems they all now have fan speeds and the
like, but they sure as hell aren't quiet. I do want to submit one
additional thought and that is that I noticed with having the door
open to the outside, the humidity was very low and what was
interesting is as the wind blew into the room, the unit was running
less. Of course this wind was moving air over the sensor so it
obviously believe it to be dryer in the room than if the door was
closed and the air was not moving. Of course this is obvious, but just
interesting to see how sensitive the sensor really is. Hey all I can
say is this is as dry as I believe this basement has been since I
lived here. It's down to 42% thanks to the dehumidifier and an open
door. I think without the dehumidifier with the door open, it might
have dropped into the lower 60s or upper 50s, which is still good. NOt
enough humidity is unhealthy for instruments and so forth.
