Yet again Dale, you make me feel like a slacker. And, you've got what, 25
or 30 years on me? *GRIN*

Saturday was spent running back and forth to a couple of home stores
ordering a new storm door and window. The storm door for the front of the
house, and the window for the back of the house where we had the back door
bricked part way up.

We then loaded 10 40 pound bags of concrete mix into the car and I hauled
them up the stairs and to the yard. Dale likes to use the phrase heavy
beggars, but I would say something much stronger.

It was bloody hot and humid and I was drained by the end.

On Sunday, I had to widen the pit for the basement door, yet again. I
laid out some basic light weight forms just for positioning and then
dumped in about 10 bags of paver base around the edges, and 12 bags of
gravel in the center. I had to move all the bags from around the yard,
and some from the front of the house as well. It was again, bloody hot
and humid and i must have chugged a gallon of gator aid through the course
of the day.

I ordered 118, 38 pound, landscaping blocks, and 240 fiberglass pins to
pin them together. They will be delivered on Friday and I will see how
much it costs me to see just how far the guys will move the blocks for me.
I am hoping that they will, at least, haul them up the first 20 steps to
the main landing. That way they will be off the street and less tempting
for someone to show up with a truck and get a load of free landscaping
blocks.

By the end of this project, and including the deck project, I've
calculated that we have increased the weight of our hill top property
approximately 9 tons. Maybe my daughter to be will be able to push my
wheelchair for me.
