Tom, I've seriously considered building some kind of system like a rail and trolley up the stairs, and then a winch at the top of the stairs to haul it up. Of course, I will get around to it long after I am done hauling heavy things up the stairs. Much like I am getting around to the basement door after building the deck. The basement door would have saved me all the trouble of hauling my miter saw and tools up and down many more stairs and through the house.
