My system is called the, dumb guide.
I use a straight board to run my circular saw against when I want to cut
something large like a sheet of plywood.
I have a block of wood which I have cut to the exact distance between the
edge of the shoe and the saw blade.
This makes it relatively easy to line up my guide so that I cut exactly on
the line.
Then I get the full depth of cut.
Blessings,
Tom
