Dan, a card to do good movies doesn't need the power that video gaming users
want or need. Most TV units have way more inputs than you need, just so you
have a match on both. The HDMI and component and S-video all work almost the
same.
I was looking at used comps today for that purpose at different sites.
There are some with 256 video cards for under 200 dollars. Since gamers are
going for 512 and larger cards, the lower one are really cheap.
On a note with the dvd players, they can be tied into your computer also.
You can do netflick right from them or download movies on the spot and play
them.
I think your idea is a better way of doing it and getting a wireless
computer and hard wiring it to the TV. Your programs on the computer will be
the only limit as to what form you play. I don't remember where it was; but,
there was a nice one for less than 150 bucks. That one might have been at
tiger direct.
