Since one of our neighbors swooped the parking spot I spent four hours cleaning out last weekend, we had to take another spot that wasn't as clear. So, I spent a couple of hours on Saturday cleaning out another spot. The snow was pretty packed down from cars driving over it, but I have a great scraper thingee that really gets under the ice quite well and breaks it up.
The walk to the bus was somewhat treacherous this morning, but not horrific. In some places the sidewalks are shoveled to the cement, in others, you just stay between the three foot high snow banks, and you can't go wrong, although the footing can be tricky. The hard part is knowing when you get to streets, and finding the tiny slot to get through the snow bank and onto or off of the street. Also, a couple of the streets around my house are pretty wide, and the plows either don't plow the middle, or plow into the middle of the street because the sides are where cars park. That can make it a bit disorienting as you try and clamber up and over the mess in the middle while trying to get across. Looks like more snow is on the way today. -- Blue skies.
