Betsy, putting it down before a snow or sleet, does help keep frozen precip
from sticking to concrete surfaces.

It makes it easier to scrape off.

Curious,
So if this stuff melts snow and ice, would it 
make sense to put some down when the first snow 
is on the way or shortly after it begins?
