One of my favorites will always be "Christmas Time's A Coming" written
by the famous Tex Logan, and performed by Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass
Boys... I forget the actual date but I remember hearing this in the late
50's sometime. Bill's amazing strong tenor voice just lifted that number
up to the heights that it deserved, and of course Bill's mandolin break
was super, and forget about the fiddle break. It was just phenomenal.

I later met Tex after he got his Phd from MIT, and was living over in
Morris County, NJ while he was working at Bell Laboratories. It was the
super hero (in this area) for bluegrass promotion work Doug Tuchman who
got Tex (amazing fiddle player) to come into the city to help out
Charlie Moore who was coming through and put on a great show in New York
City at New York University Law School.
