This is certainly true. However, I don't think it's unreasonable to
expect users of open-source software to either understand whatever
packaging system is available for their platform or have some idea of
how that open source is converted into a binary. Clearly we (providers
of open-source tools) should try to provide correct and reasonably
complete build instructions, but we can't do everything.
