Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> So I am once again thinking of getting a touring for the airport car, Costco runs, etc. as the E46M3 is a pita w/the small trunk opening (none of my coolers fit and you need a cooler to shop in Vegas in the summer) and the truck is, well, f'n big and not the easiest to find a parking spot for. E46 323iT, 325iT, and E39 528iT could be had w/manuals (I think). E39 540i is tempting, but not with current gas prices (or do they do ok mileage wise?). Group thoughts? Any links to go do my research of common issues on? I want to keep the price below $15k (prefer $10k-ish) if possible. WRT fuel economy, 325iT manuals SOP 03/01 and later do suffer a bit mileagewise. From that time on, they (and CiC) got 3.46 rear ends, which helps with acceleration, but [EMAIL PROTECTED] makes for somewhat poor high-speed fuel economy. In fact, I'd say above 70mph, an E46M3 is just as, if not slightly more gas-frugal. > Group thoughts? Any links to go do my research of common issues on? They seem to go through rear shock mounts faster, which is bad because they are hard to get to (ask a Z3 coupe owner). Some years the options are packaged differently than the sedan. 2000 323iT had 328/325-sized brakes. And naturally manuals are hard to come by. Mine is a somewhat stripper MT, and I already have a couple of DE instructor types waiting for me to sell. :) You should be able to find 99 528 and 00 323 close to $10k. There was a 01 325 for sale by a local race shop that was running in the back of Roundel till recently that was even more stripper than mine. ------------------------------ End of [bmwuucdigest] digest(2 messages) **********
