I'd suggest seeding with some of the areas we've talked about as priorities for
2009 to see if what we think is important is consistent with what the members
and site visitors feel is important:

*         1H 2009 Priorities

o Agree on best practices for UX, major OPs agree to consistently enable and
support this UX, communicate to RPs

o Agree on phase 1, tier 1 OP capability targets and major OPs consistently
enable and support these capabilities (data, security, other?)

o Improve developer resources

o Develop and communicate a more clear and cohesive security strategy:
technology, security community engagement, education, and marcom

o Visible reference deployments in targeted segments: blogs, social
networking, media, entertainment, sports, personal productivity, and affinity
groups

o Clear and consistent trademark and brand strategy, especially for B2B (OP
to RP) initially

o OIDF organization on sound financial footing, appropriate professional
staff in place, executing on the agreed to priorities and programs

o Begin market research on new market segments: retail, government, education
- leverage successes and lessons learned in Japan and Europe

*         2H 2009 Priorities

o Continue to enhance UX and data offerings (friends, activity stream, other)

o Agree on phase 2, tier 1 OP capability targets and major OPs consistently
enable and support these capabilities (data, security, other?)

o Enhance security and other capabilities (data, PCI compliance,
non-repudiation, etc.) as required for potential new markets: retail,
government, education, etc.

o Begin mainstream market awareness and educational outreach (when required
goals above are achieved)

o Leverage reference deployments (1H goal) into mainstream adoption in
targeted segments: blogs, social networking, media, entertainment, sports,
personal productivity, and affinity groups

o Develop and implement B2C (RP to end user) OpenID brand and trademark
strategy

o Assess and refine OIDF financial and operational structure as necessary

o Develop 2010 plan

Cheers,

Brian

Subject: Re: [OpenID board] FW: UserVoice on OIDF and wiki?

What topics should we seed the discussions with?

Also, my thinking is that Satisfaction should be used for general user/customer
support problems (i.e. when people have a problem with their OpenID, yes, they
should go to their provider, but if they forget who their provider is, if it
goes down, or any number of other problems, at least we can aggregate common
answers to such problems for the betterment of the OpenID brand).

For UserVoice, I think we use it to collect ideas and votes on those ideas -
both for the technology and the priorities of the foundation. Of course nothing
on UV will be binding, but these kinds of solutions have a lower barrier to
entry than joining a mailing list.

Seems like the best way to get questions is to put it up there so
people can enter them in. Topics make sense to me as well. I say get
it up as fast as possible to start taking feedback.
