Wow. You guys are soooo right. It's nuts what has happened to reality regarding a realistic body image. I have never wanted to be 'skinny' but I want to be at my optimium weight which means (to me) a weight at which I feel good physically and mentally. For me that's at 135 to 147. I'm 5'6" and large boned for a woman.
When I was little I was teased something terrible about my wieght even though, looking back, I wasn't heavy. A bit chubby maybe. But sheesh I was in 2nd, 3rd, 4th grade!! Yet, the words stay with you. The hurt stays with you. I can see how people could easily slip into an eating disorder... Very sad and so unnecessary. I'm up for a ring when this book is offered!
