I'e just got my Boom up and running again, I used the re-foam rings from speakerrepair, (F3Ct3 & their glue), it sounds as good as ever I remember it :)
Thanks to *pbroughton* for his clear dissembly instructions, I finished up removing the white ribbon cable from the faceplate end, (it was easy enough to reconnect), I couldn't get the 8 pin speaker connector reseated without doing so. For me, refixing the 8 pin connector was by far the hardest part of the whole job. I also managed to collapse both tweeter dustcaps, they stand proud of the front baffle and if laid face down will flatten. I'd recommend laying the baffle across a suitably sized book or similar so that the tweeters overhang each side. One dustcap popped back out easily enough, but the other was a beast to get right, but they both work okay now and don't seem to have been affected sound quality wise. Many thanks to all who've posted links and tips  kidstypike LMS on Raspberry Pi 2 model B/max2play/HiFiBerry DAC+ > AVI DM5 1 x SB3 - 1 x Boom - 1 x (Squeezebox) Radio - 2 x Touch - 2 x Raspberry Pi/max2play/HiFiBerry ------------------------------------------------------------------------ kidstypike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10436 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82497 _______________________________________________ Boom mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/boom
