when my parents would drive up to visit me in my college days, i would
tell them if they wanted to go right, to stay straight. if they wanted
to turn around, take a right. they never got it! this was/is
particularly true on atlantic ave in the north end.

in arlington we have a u shaped street called beverly that intersects
rte in 2 places. so how do you talk about the intersection of the two?

rte 3 and 3a sorta swap places when they cross 128

my favorite one is the intersection of huron and fresh pond parkway in
cambridge. if you are going east on huron when you hit that spot on the
far left corner is a set of highway marker signs all pointing left: rte
16 east, rte 2 west and i think rte 3 north. it has been photographed
for its perfect confusion. actually it makes sense if you see a map of
the area and how the numbered highways twist and turn but if you just
happen upon it, tourist beware.
