I only know that, with the mPower, the adapter must be plugged in during the entire process. I can only assume the machine internally disconnects itself from the AC long enough to fully discharge, then reconnects to the AC to fully charge. All of this takes place under the hood, where we, as users, don't see what happens. All I know is, it's in the manual, we have to leave the unit plugged in until the whole cycle has been completed. Again, this is *ONLY* for the mPower, those running classics with KS6.11 and earlier do not have to leave their units plugged in to recalibrate the battery.

Sarah, One point of confusion here. How can the battery power discharge if the adapteris plugged in? (It would make sense to let it run down with no adapter and then plug it is for calibration.)
