System files, no but it will delete user files that you put on the system. The book reader can read a book on any folder on any drive and you don't need the book reader to read books. The only thing on the keysoft disk you need to read is the manual and its in its own folder. Just delete the demo book from the books folder. There is a books folder on the flash disk I think, either its there when you get the unit, or I put it there and forgot about it. LOL
